The 2010 Open Championship Blog

Feel free to post your comments and insights here as you wish. Looks to be a great week of true links golf at the most sacred place in the history of the game, a place where I ventured to several years ago. Walking the Old Course at St. Andrews was bitter sweet, as I watched players a mere 100 yards away get the opportunity of a lifetime, while I was a mere spectator for the day. But I must say that between visiting the cordial little town of St. Andrews and feeling the history of the game as I walked a few holes on the course, I felt rather insignificant. No greater place on earth exists in golf.

TV Times this week for the Open Championship:

Thurs, Friday – 4 AM – 3 PM EST, ESPN

Saturday – 7 AM – 2:30 PM EST, ESPN

Sunday – 6 AM – 1:30 PM, EST, ESPN

Note – ABC Sports picks up telecast immediately following the conclusion of ESPN coverage on the weekend.

Favorite Tournament of the Year only a few hours away!

Go St. Andrews!

Truly one of the greatest stages for the game. And if the wind howls and the rain falls in sheets then the Scots will likely say “nice day for a round”

Thus far the wind has been manageable and the rain hasn’t been pelting…. according to the projected forecasts earlier yesterday, these guys should be hitting the ball all over the place and soaking wet.

I guess they get the weather wrong over there too? lol

Rory McIlroy with the round of the day so far, and what an incredible round it was – 63. I tell you, I went to bed last night thinking that a 73 would be a pretty good score today. Unreal… the weather has given them a break.

    Good tournament thus far.
